Meet Johnna

A designer who understands the importance of strategic communications

Johnna Ferguson

I started in broadcasting and journalism working behind the sceens at TV stations and as a reporter at a newspaper,. It was here I picked up graphic design, when the production department needed help. My journalism experience taught me to edit for clarity and keep the audience in focus, and it still guides how I work.

At the university and grant-funded setting, I design curricula, toolkits, and publications teams can maintain, pairing visual design with plain-language editing and practical production planning. My graduate school concentration was in strategic and digital communication. This sharpened how I plan for audiences, channels, and analytics.

When I am not working, I am likely at Neyland Stadium on a Saturday, or being outsmarted by my tuxedo cats, Butler and Duke.
